This site is currently 'under construction'; whilst I get to grips with this, here are a few details about who I am and how I may be able to help you. ![]() I have over 40 years professional experience in archaeology, having been employed in a variety of roles - researcher, fieldworker, finds specialist, advisor, lecturer, heritage manager, and now consultant. For thirteen years I was County Archaeologist for Warwickshire; before that I managed Buckinghamshire County Council's archaeological field team. Further back in my career I worked for a short while in Derbyshire before moving to South Wales, where for many years I directed excavations and field projects for the Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust. I was the archaeological advisor to the Diocese of Coventry for 15 years. I am a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and a former Vice-chair of what is now the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists. I am currently based in Wiltshire, but much of my work is undertaken further afield. ![]() I am committed to understanding and protecting the historic environment which forms the backdrop to where we all live and work, and I want to help others to do so. I can advise on managing historic assets, as well as guiding you through the planning system. I am also keen to foster public engagement with heritage - ultimately the past belongs to the community. Together we can find ways of making the historic environment work for you positively. Give me a call (07503 873321), or send me an email (jp@jparchaeology.co.uk), and we can discuss your needs. |
